Marsh Lake, Twenty Years On

Zac and I are still here! Sorry for not posting anything in a ridiculously long time. Especially because I have all these pictures from our family camping trip last month. The backstory is this: twenty years ago, Scott, Jann, and the five boys took a trip to Marsh Lake. They camped, fished, and, at the end of the weekend, took a picture at their campsite picnic table. Ten years later, when the boys were considerably more scattered, they all came together for one weekend and re-created the experience, complete with an updated, but identically-staged, photograph.

Ten years later, and here they are again, this time with much-expanded families, a little less hair, and just as many fish. Everyone was able to make the trek to the Uintahs; I think our final head count was eighteen people and one tiny dog, who I'm pretty sure was traumatized by the end of the weekend.

Shawn, Angie, Kyle, and Cheyenne had brought their boat and their canoe, but after breakfast on Saturday some of us headed out over the ridge to find the fish. Zac caught a fish; I didn't. But I did climb a dead tree and make Zac take pictures of it! Some things will never change.

We had a great weekend together. I love these pictures because they show how the boys have (and haven't) changed, and how much the family is growing! Can't wait for another addition next month...
