A Brewer's Dozen

Unless you live in Oregon, you have to be pretty determined to get to Bend and willing to drive through a whole lot of nothin'. Luckily, we don't have too much filling up our schedules these days, so we made the trip. The views were worth it, as was the beer -- Bend has not one, not two, but twelve mircrobreweries within a couple of square miles. Zac and I only visited Deschutes Brewery, a.k.a. The Mothership (Black Butte Porter is Zac's all-time favorite beer), and 10 Barrel Brewery. I think you all should be proud of our restraint.

We also enjoyed Bend's riverwalk, their bustling main street and criterion race, camping in the state park (I don't know what kind of wood everyone was burning, but the campfires smelled wonderful), and soaking up the mountain vistas.
